After the amazing events of Avengers Endgame, the MCU has been left in a different state than it’s ever been. Without Iron Man or Captain America, the MCU must find new heroes to embrace the Avenger title. Whether these heroes will be old or new, we do know that all kinds of heroes from Thor to the Eternals will be either returning or entering the MCU in phase 4. Plus, we have the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all the villains that come with them. So, even though we lost a lot in Endgame, we’ve gained even more afterwards. Today, we’re going to talk about the future of the MCU. Let’s get into it!

Phase 4 Lineup

After Comic-Con we saw the what the future of phase 4 looks like for the MCU. The entire lineup looks freaking amazing, if you ask me. We got several new movies coming out in the next two years, but one thing that is interesting, is that five out of the ten shows that are coming out are TV-shows that are coming out with Disney Plus. Phase 3 had nine movies in it, while phase four has five movies and five TV shows. After seeing the phase 4 lineup, it made me wonder if phase five would be the same. More TV shows and less movies. Maybe it will. Maybe it wont. I think it’ll depend on how well the Disney Plus goes, which we all know will do very well.

But focusing on phase 4, this is the list of movies, in order, that we are suppose to get in the next two years:

Black Widow (May 1, 2020)
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Series (Fall 2020, Disney +)
Eternals (Nov. 6, 2020)
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Feb. 12 2021)
Wanda Vision Series (Spring 2021, Disney +)
Loki Series (Spring 2021, Disney +)
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (May 7 2021)
What If…? Series (Summer 2021, Disney +)
Hawkeye Series (Fall 2021, Disney +)
Thor: Love and Thunder (Nov. 5, 2021)

Now, of course I’ll talk about each one of these movies as time goes on, but right now, let’s focus on the big picture. This is going to be the first phase, in the MCU, that doesn’t have an Avengers film in it. Which makes me think that one of these movies here, is going to be big for the MCU. Most likely, it’s going to be Thor: Love and Thunder. This movie is introducing She-Thor: Goddess of Thunder (played by Natalie Portman). It’s possible that the MCU could have something happen that would require Thor to die and the Goddess of Thunder to take his place.

Another movie, that’ll probably have a big impact on the MCU is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This movie will be the first horror movie in the MCU and it will also have Scarlet Witch in it as well. Now, Wanda Vision is released right before Doctor Strange. I don’t think that’s a coincident. Most likely, whatever happens at the season finally of Wanda Vision, probably invokes Wanda to go to Doctor Strange. In any way, whatever happens, I’m betting one of these two movies will have something big happen in the MCU. To keep the audience attention, I doubt Marvel isn’t going to have a big even happen in Phase 4.

Next, topic for phase 4 is the Fantastic Four and Deadpool. This is also a phase 5 topic, but we’re going to talk about it now. The Fantastic Four are the biggest priority when it comes to bringing the Fox Marvel Characters into the MCU. There are many reasons, but one is that they’re the easiest to bring into the MCU. Plus, they have two of the best villains in comic history: Silver Surfer and Dr. Doom. These two villains, especially Dr. Doom are legendary, and are greatly wanted in the MCU. Now, Dr. Doom is a villain that I bet isn’t going to be killed in the same movie he’s introduced. I bet that Dr. Doom will be a larger villain within the MCU. Now, whether or not they choose him, Galactus, or Annihilus is beyond me, but I do hope the bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU soon.

The Fantastic Four have not been represented well on the screen…well at least not as well as they could have been. These guys are some of the best heroes in comic history and its about time that they get a good movie. Now, most likely, I’m expecting them to do either two things with phase 4 of the MCU. The first possible option, is that they’ll have a teaser for the Fantastic Four coming into the MCU. This could be something like Stark Tower turning into a base for the Fantastic Four or something as simple as showing the Human Torch. The second possible thing I’m expecting them to do, is to show them getting their powers in a post credit scene. This is similar to the first one, but I think it would be a cool way of showing us the Fantastic Four.

Now, I don’t think the X-Men will be entering the MCU, until phase 5 at least, but I would not be surprised at all, if we got a Deadpool cameo in phase 4. Things were very quiet with Deadpool when talked about phase 4, and it’ll be interesting to see if he begins to take up the Stan Lee cameo role.

Phase 5 Lineup

We don’t know the exact lineup for phase 5 of the MCU, but we do know that Captain Marvel 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Blade are all expected to be released within this phase. As we just said, people are also expecting/hoping for a Fantastic Four movie in phase 5. Whether or not this is going to happen, we don’t know. But one can dream…

There are rumors that Avenger 5 could also enter the MCU in phase 5. I think this is very likely, but I have no idea what they will face. Will it be Galactus or Dr. Doom? Or maybe even an Avengers vs X-Men movie? Probably, but we do know there will be an Avengers 5. Kevin Feige confirmed this. Here’s a quote, when asked about Avengers 5.

“It will be a very different team than we’ve seen before. That’s what Endgame was all about. It will be a very different incarnation of the team with some people you’ve already met and some you haven’t met yet.”

-Kevin Feige

So we don’t know if this is going to happen in phase 5 or 6, but it’s probably going to come out within the next five years. Now, Kevin Feige did say that there were some that we haven’t met yet. Now, he could be referring to Blade, the Eternals, and Shang-Chi, but he could also be referring to the Fantastic Four, Deadpool or maybe even one or two X-Men like Wolverien or Professor X. Either way, I think when he talks about some we haven’t met yet, I think he also means ones Marvel hasn’t announced yet. We’ll have all our questions answered in time…so much time.

We do know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be out in phase 5, which is interesting because it was originally suppose to be released in phase 4, but after the James Gunn incident, the movie had to be pushed back after he took on Suicide Squad 2. At the end of the last movie, we saw a set up for Adam Warlock which would be interesting to see enter the MCU as well. Another potential candidate to join the Avengers. We don’t know yet, but it’s going to be so much fun!!!

So there you go guys, the future of the MCU as we know it. Hopefully we’ll get more information soon, and we can learn more about when the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool will all enter the MCU. Whatever happens, I’m just so excited about Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4. By the way, besides the Avengers series, Thor is the only character in the MCU to have four movies. *Clap*

Thanks for reading this post, and have a great day! See ya!
