Disney Plus. The new streaming service that will be dropping in November, is starting to really create hype. It’s not just the fact that Disney is adding EVERY Disney, Pixar, Lucas Film, Marvel Studios, and National Geographic show on the service, but they’re adding new shoes for us nerds that want more Star Wars, Marvel, and more. With Marvel announcing their plans for Phase 4, they’ve already talked about a lot of shows for Disney Plus. Star Wars has also announced some shows like the Mandalorian and the ObiWan tv series as well.
Other streaming services, like Netflix, are starting to freak out about all of this. Every movie and show owned by Disney will be taken off of Netflix. Disney is planning to put over 500 movies on this streaming service. This is going to be a big hit for the other streaming services, and what’s worse for these companies is that Disney Plus is currently planned to be $7 a month or $70 a year. Compare that to Netflix which is around $9 a month at the cheapest.
So, with Disney taking over the movie industry and now the streaming industry, what tv shows are going to be exclusive to just Disney Plus? Well, there are several, and today we’ll go over our top 5 shows we’re excited about. Let’s do this!
5. WandaVision

You know, WandaVision wasn’t originally going to be on this list. It was going to be Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but WandaVision has grabbed my interest. Seeing the concept art that Marvel Studios released has seriously made me wonder what they have in store for us. Plus, seeing how it will affect Doctor Strange 2, and the MCU has made me extremely interested.
WandaVision is about Wanda, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. We don’t know exactly how Vision will be in the series since he died in Infinity War, but from the art work seems to suggest a 50’s vibe. People seem to think that Wanda may try to create a false reality. Whatever happens it’ll be something to see.
Plus, I just want to say that the music that they played, when they announced WandaVision at the D23 convention, had a very interesting feel to it. Almost like a 1950’s vibe. Just thought it was interesting.
4. Moon Knight

Moon Knight is a character that has been wanted in the MCU for years now. People have originally been wanting him to have his own movie, but a TV show offers a new way of introducing the character. Moon Knight is a very interesting character, and to finally have him on the big screen is going to be something to remember. While Kevin Feige was talking about Moon Knight, he said,
…And he now, may or may not be infused with powers from Khonshu, the Moon God, or he might just be crazy.
Kevin Feige
This character summary is perfect. When I heard this, I thought it describe Marc Specter perfectly. Moon Knight will be a fantastic character to introduce into the MCU, and I hope we see him in Avengers 5.
3. Obi Wan Kenobi TV Series

Ewan McGregor is reprising his role as Obi Wan Kenobi, and will return in a solo TV series, in the Star Wars universe. We don’t know the specific time yet, but we do know that the series will be set sometime before the original trilogy, but after the prequels. Most likely it’ll be before Star Wars: Rebels, but after the Solo movie.
My guess is that the movie will follow Obi Wan trying to take down Maul’s criminal empire. I doubt that Obi Wan was sitting by on Tatooine while Maul was growing is organization. My guess is that it will show him with several battles against Maul. Now, keep in mind, that if Disney decides to do this, that they will probably have to make Ewan McGregor look older than he currently does. Maybe add some grey to his hair or something like that. In any case, I think this show is going to be pretty good. I don’t think Ewan McGregor would agree to come on, if he didn’t think Disney wasn’t going to do a good job.
2. The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian is one of the most interesting shows coming to Disney Plus. They’re telling a completely new story from a bounty hunter’s perspective. The Mandalorian Empire is known for their unique armor, and we see a lot of them in the Clone Wars TV show. The famous Boba Fett and Jango Fett both used Mandalorian armor, and it’ll be interesting to see the TV show take on this kinda of Boba Fett character.
I think the Mandalorian is going to be a great show, and I’m excited that they decided to introduce a completely new story. Plus, I love Jon Favreau as an actor and director. He directed the first Iron Man movie, and I think he’ll do a great job with this TV series as well. The Mandalorian is an interesting idea for a show that, done right, will do great.
1. Star Wars the Clone Wars: Season 7

For number one on this list, we have Star Wars the Clone Wars: Season 7. In case you haven’t seen, I’ve actually done a review on Star Wars the Clone Wars. Now, in case you don’t know, Star Wars: Clone Wars was originally cancelled after Disney bought Lucasfilms. The show had six seasons, but was originally going to have seven, but after the by out, the show got cancelled. The outrage was ridiculous. The show ended on a cliffhanger, and to try to ease the star wars audience, Disney created a new show called Star Wars: Rebels, which wasn’t nearly as good as the original. It brought some of the characters from Clone Wars, like Ahsoka and Maul, back into the mix, but didn’t capture the essence of Star Wars like Clone Wars did.
Now, I love Clone Wars. It showed that with small changes, the prequels could have been amazing. Clone Wars showed us the characters from the prequels and made them not just like able, but made you cheer them on. This show is my favorite source of Star Wars material besides the original trilogy. I love these spin off shows of the Star Wars universe. It shows that there’s more to Star Wars than just the Jedi and Sith. I love those apsects of Star Wars, but also having the heroes journey in Star Wars as well. I mean some of my favorite parts of Clone Wars was with the Domino Squad. If you don’t know they were a group of Clones that you see when they’re cadets all the way to their actual clone troopers, and its really cool seeing them go through this experience. There are probably over fifteen episodes about these clones, and it’s really cool to watch them because you grow to like them. You relate to their struggle and their conflicts and you cheer them on. Especially characters like Rex and Fives.
So, I veered off course a little bit, but the final season of Clone Wars will be out in February of 2020. Not to far away now, and the final season will go directly into Revenge of the Sith. It’ll be so much fun, and I hope Disney Plus does a good job capturing the essence of this show.
Conclusion
Disney Plus, will be a very interesting streaming service bringing a lot of new content to the media world. Star Wars, Marvel, and other Disney properties are going to be getting new forms of entertainment through this service, and I’m excited to see how it plays out in the big picture of the streaming service. Plus(pun intended), I’m also interested to see how the other streaming services fair when this new service comes out. It’s going to be an interesting year.
